The technician may find one or more of the following DTCs set:

• U029E
• P249D
• P249E
This condition may be caused by the following conditions:

Note: The graphic above depicts an example of a torn and missing seal.
• Moisture intrusion past a damaged (1) seal located in the connector for the NOx
sensor wiring harness.
• Missing (2) seal located in the connector for the NOx sensor wiring harness.
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, perform normal diagnostics for the
codes set.
Correction
⇒ If diagnostics lead to NOx sensor replacement, inspect the mating chassis
electrical connector for corrosion. Clean and repair as necessary.
Parts Information
Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to
determine the proper part numbers for the replacement
NOx sensor.
