GROUP Engine MODEL 2017MY Niro (DE HEV) NUMBER DATE PS553 (Rev 1, 05/15/2018) April 2018 SUBJECT: HEV WARNING LIGHT AND DTC P1B25/P1B77 NOTICE This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. When addressing a concern related to the Niro HV warning light ON, and KDS detects a primary DTC P1B25 (HV Path Fault) and secondary DTC P1B77 (HV Pre-Charge Fault), then the 125 Amp High Voltage Battery Fuse should be inspected for an intermittent and/or an open condition. Remove the HV battery safety plug, to shut off the high voltage circuit, and remove the high voltage fuse by referring to the applicable Shop Manual on KGIS. Measure the resistance while tapping on the fuse (less than <1Ω resistance). Specification: 1Ω or less (68°F) If the measured resistance is not within specification, or the P1B25 DTC is intermittent, replace the 125 Amp main HV battery fuse with the newer 175 Amp main HV battery fuse. (Part # 375F2 A8170) DANGER When performing this procedure, follow all EV battery safety precaution procedures found in the “General Information → General Safety Information and Caution” chapter in the Shop Manual on KGIS and wear all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
