Steering Rattle Sound / Steering Wheel Vibration

INTRODUCTION:
This bulletin announces a design change made to the forward bushing used in the front lower control
arm to address customer concerns of a rattle-type sound and / or a possible vibration felt in the
steering wheel. The material for the cushion portion of the front bushing has been changed.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
The new bushings were incorporated into production starting with VIN JH567501.
PART INFORMATION:
The images below show the location of the front bushing and the new part as identified by the orange
paint mark. NOTE: Control (Lower) Arm Assembly part numbers are supplied as reference only
as nearly all repairs will only require bushing replacement. Always refer to the Service Manual for
inspection requirements prior to making any repairs.

SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
The service procedures for inspection and replacement of the bushings and / or the lower control
arm assembly remain unchanged. Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full
requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information
critical to performing an effective repair the first time and every time. This includes but is not
limited to: important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools,
required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair. Customer
satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
