NO AUDIBLE DIFFERENCE IN EXHAUST WITH “M
PERFORMANCE POWER AND SOUND KIT”

SITUATION
No audible difference in engine exhaust sound is observed when in “SPORT“ or “SPORT+“ driving modes.
This situation can occur after the vehicle is programmed or retrofitted with the Power and Sound Kit prior to
ISTA 4.08.1x.
CAUSE
A software error in the Digital Motor Electronics (DME) exhaust flap electrical controller adaptation process.
CORRECTION
Perform the teach-in function using ISTA 4.08.1x or higher.
PROCEDURE

Teach in the exhaust flap position by performing the following test plan:

Note: The function of the exhaust flap can only be checked in driving modes “SPORT“ or “SPORT+“,
after the vehicle has been in operation for a few minutes.

Refer to KSD2/AIR for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.
Work time labor operation code 61 00 006 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the “work time”
FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required.
