Each battery type has its own uniquely tuned charging and battery management systems, therefore cannot be interchanged. Vehicles with the auto idle stop system come with AGM batteries. If you get one in for an auto idle stop-related issue such as intermittent operation or a battery low state-of-charge, it's critical that you select AGM for the battery type setting on the ED-18 battery tester or GR8 battery diagnostic station. If you happen to select FLOODED (FLA) for testing, this could let a bad battery pass for good, resulting in performance issues and a possible comeback. Furthermore, if you need to charge that battery with the GR8, serious battery damage can result if you select FLOODED (FLA). © 2018 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. — All Rights Reserved Page 1 of 1
