Complaint:
Knocking or thumping noises from the area of the front axle on rough terrain.
Cause:
Torsion bearing of strut rod and/or spring link cracked.

Remedy:
Replace torsion bearings on affected strut rod or spring link in pairs.
The part number can be found from the VIN in the EPC.
Note:
Currently, the EPC shows the torsion bearings incorrectly as bearings for camber/caster adjustment. For better identification in EPC, the corresponding part numbers for the torsion bearings are listed below.
From EPC version 05/2018 onwards the bearings are correctly displayed.
The documentation in the WIS is adapted or extended.
