Reason for block
Complaint:
Squeaking/grinding noise audible from the electric steering in the area of the control head when the steering is fully
turned after the engine has been running or the vehicle has been driven for some time (refer to sound recording).
The complaint only occurs at high outside temperatures (above 75 °F) accompanied by high air humidity (above
70%). It is most audible when steering when at a standstill or when parking .
The complaint can be attributed to the control head of the steering using the noise diagnosis kit.

Cause:
Varying degrees of expansion for the plastic components in the torque sensor could lead to them grinding against
each other.
Remedy:
Replace steering gear.
