Description
Newmar Corporation has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific
motorhomes.
NHTSA # 18V 438, TC# 2018-349
Issue: After the battery disconnect is turned on, the slideout controller may cause the slideouts to extend or
retract without warning. This could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. This condition
can only occur with the battery disconnect on and the ignition key in the off/accessory position.
Correction: Dealers will replace the slideout controller.
This recall applies only to specific 2018 coaches. Please refer to the attached population list for specific
production numbers and VINs of affected coaches.
Recommended Action
Contact your Newmar Service Account Manager to obtain authorization. Know which slideout(s) the
controller(s) operates so the correct controller(s) can be shipped. The parts department will ship the parts
once they are available for this repair after September 10, 2018.
Follow the attached instructions to complete the recall.
