PROCEDURE 1.1. Open the battery compartment access door. 1.2. Set the battery disconnect switch in the battery compartment to the off position. See Figure 1. Figure 2 - ITS Baselight Box PAGE 3 OF 6 INFORMATION LETTER 1.4. SAV.1E.2012MA LI4407E Remove the mounting screws of the upper ITS panel and carefully place the panel at the bottom of the ITS box. Retain the mounting screws. See Figure 3. Remove the mounting screws Figure 3 - Upper ITS Panel 1.5. With a grinder or any equivalent tool, cut an access hole in the structure according to the dimensions shown in Figure 4. 6 7/8 in. (175 mm) 1 1/2 in. (38 mm) 2 3/16 in. (55 mm) 1 3/16 in. SAV.1E.2012MA LI4407E Use angled access panel N93775 as a template to drill two holes, using a #11 drill pin, around the access hole made in the previous step. See Figure 5. Remove the angled access plate N93775 and clean the inside of the plate with isopropyl alcohol or a degreaser to obtain a good bonding surface. Clean the surface with a clean dry cloth to make sure the surface is dry. 1.8. Place rectangular insulation N66254-75 on the cleaned N93775 plate. If needed, cut a portion of the insulation to avoid interference with the metal around the access holes cut in the structure. See Figure 6. 1.9. Remove the plastic skin from rectangular insulation N66254-75 and bond the insulation on to the clean surface of plate N93775. Press firmly for 5 seconds for good adherence. See Figure 6. (2 mm) bead of N24232-01 white Sikaflex 252 around and between each hole of the N93775 plate. See Figure 7. Figure 7 - N93775 Plate with a Bead of N24232-01 SikaFlex 1.11. Install the N93775 on the structure using 2 N39340 rivets in the drilled holes. Clean off any excess of Sikaflex. The plate needs to be watertight to protect the components in the ITS compartment. 1.12. Drill the remaining holes on the N93775 plate using a #11 drill pin. 1.13. Install 6 rivets N39340 on plate N93775. 1.14. Apply N24232-01 white Sikaflex 252 on the head of the rivets and around to ensure the installation is watertight. 1.15. plate.Affix the upper ITS panel with the retained mounting screws. 1.16.
