• Improper function of coolant thermostat.
• Excessive coolant temperature.
• Engine unable to reach operating temperature.

• Fatigue malfunction caused by internal pressure.
Verification
Inspect coolant thermostat for damage. See Figure 1.

Resolution
Replace coolant thermostat with the new part number in Table 1 below. Refer to
Procedure 008-013 (/qs3/pubsys2/xml/en/procedures//-008-013.html) in corresponding
Service Manual.
