IMPORTANT NOTES:
•
Be advised, during the “phase-in” period for these 2 components, a new style lock plate may
have been used in production with either a new or old style shift lock solenoid.
•
During the “phase-in” period an old style lock plate was only used in production with old
style shift lock solenoid.
•
The old style and new style parts described in this bulletin are NOT interchangeable.
•
When ordering replacement parts, always order the most up-to-date part number for the VIN
being repaired.
•
If inspection of a vehicle within the VIN ranges supplied above reveals old-style parts, when
replacement is required, they should be replaced with the same old-style parts.
SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
The service procedures for replacement of the lock plate and shift lock solenoid are unchanged.
Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review all requirements of the repair being
performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective
