Page 1 of 3 SI B65 01 17 Audio, Navigation, Information, Safety Systems February 2017 Technical Service AIR BAG WARNING LAMP, CC MESSAGE 'RESTRAINT SYSTEM' MODEL F48 (X1) SITUATION Air bag Warning indicator sporadically illuminates for short intervals when occupants are exiting the front of the vehicle. Check Control messages may be displayed as follows: z "Restraint system driver's side is faulty" (CC 108) z "Restraint system front passenger is faulty" (CC 109) z "Functions of airbag, seat belt tensioner and belt force limiter are faulty" (CC 97) Fault codes may be stored: z C95462, driver's seat module (seat position, back rest lock): Communication fault z C95463, seat module front passenger (seat position, back rest lock): Communication fault Front seat occupants may sense electrostatic discharge when exiting the seat. CAUSE Electrostatic discharge disrupts normal communication between seat module and airbag control unit. CORRECTION Add additional grounding for seat control module. PROCEDURE For conditions that are similar to the situation described: Follow the attached procedure. And: 61 99 000 Or: Repairing Both Front Seats Labor Operation: Labor Allowance: Description: 52 13 505 Refer to KSD2 Removing and installing both front seats (Plus work) 4 FRU Working time without specification/electrical system of vehicle (Repair both sides). And: 61 99 000 Work time labor operation code 61 99 000 is not considered a Main labor operation. Also, since the “work time” FRU allowance to be claimed is specified, a separate punch time is not required. Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowances.
