Service Action: Replace Fuel Door Cover Pot
MODEL
F16 (X6 sDrive 35i, xDrive 35i)
F86 (X6 M)
SITUATION
Under certain conditions, the fuel door locking pin may become jammed and/or the emergency release pull
cable does not function.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
This Service Action involves X6 vehicles produced from August 15, 2014 to February 25, 2015.
Vehicles which require this Service Action to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in the
"Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System) or with the Key Reader.
PROCEDURE
Replace the cover pot using Repair Instruction 41 63 003.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
• Remove the right rear wheel.
• Remove the rear right wheel arch cover.
• Remove the flap for the fuel filler neck.
• Close the central locking system with the open fill flap.
Refer to the attachment for the repair procedure.
