Please discard copies of PIC6180. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI Condition / Concern Following are diagnostic and functionality tips associated with: 2016 Models equipped with Auto Heated Seats Only 2017-2019 Models Equipped with Auto Heated and Ventilated Seats • The auto thermal seats function activates seat heating or ventilation based on outside air temperature and the cabin air temperature control error*: (* cabin air temperature control error: Difference between cabin air target temperature and actual cabin air temperature) • If the cabin is very cold, it activates a high seat heating level. When the cabin warms up, it automatically decreases the seat level. • The same applies for a cool-down scenario. • When the heat-up or cool-down is completed, the seats stay on at a minimum level. • The auto thermal seats function initializes when ignition is turned on. It gives the system some time to stabilize (30 seconds - 2016 Model Year), (10 minutes - 2017 + Model Years). After that time, seat levels are only allowed to decrease. • If the customer changes the temperature set points later or if the outside air temperature changes, automatic seat levels will not be increased. • If the seats were already turned off automatically and conditions change, then the automatic function will not come back on. • An automatic activation can be overridden by the customer at any time by pressing the seat heating or cooling button. In this case, auto operation is suspended until the next ignition cycle. • The automatic function can be activated or deactivated via customization menu. This is a separate entry than for remote start. • The passenger seat will only be triggered, if the seat is occupied. • Auto heated seats is not available for rear seats. • "Auto thermal seats for ignition on" is only available on vehicles equipped with auto climate control (RPO C68, CJ2, CJ4, C24, etc). © 2018 General Motors.
