Service Engine Soon Light (MIL) is On with SCR Fault 805220 Stored

SITUATION
The Service Engine Soon light is on with the following fault stored in the Selective Catalyst Reduction module
(SCR).

805220 – Delivery module, system pressure, pressure build-up is too low.
This fault is very likely to be stored at temperatures below 32°F / 0°C if the vehicle is programmed using ISTA/P
3.54.1 or 3.54.2.
CAUSE
Unfavorable SCR software
CORRECTION
Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 3.54.3 or higher. (Planned release 12/19/2014).

If your center is located in a cold climate area and you have to program any of the diesel models listed above
before ISTA/P 3.54.3 is available, it is imperative to correct the SCR module software in an IRAP session before
releasing the vehicle back to the customer.
Please submit a PuMA case using the title “IRAP for Diesel Service Engine Light prevention”
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the
latest software.
Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10).

Labor operation code 00 00 006 is a Main labor operation. If you are using a Main labor code for another repair,
use the Plus code labor operation 00 00 556 instead.
Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance. Enter the Chassis Number, which consists of
the last 7 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Click on the “Search” button, and then enter the
applicable flat rate labor operation in the FR code field.
If a control module or component was working properly and/or had no related faults stored prior to vehicle
programming and it fails to program correctly or requires initialization, this additional work must be claimed with
separate labor operations under the defect code listed above; refer to KSD2.
Repairs to control modules and components with pre-existing conditions are not eligible to be claimed under the
defect code listed in this bulletin.
