Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment A8 2016 - 2018 All Not Applicable Condition Customer states: Fuel gauge does not show full after filling up, it only shows 5/8ths of a tank (Figure 1). Fuel gauge shows correct level after a short delay. Fuel gauge only shows full after driving for a short distance. MIL may be illuminated. Figure 1. Only shows 5/8ths of a tank instead of full. Workshop findings: One or more of the customer statements can be reproduced. If DTC P046100 is found in the ECM, check and update if necessary using TSB 2043357: 20 MIL on (DTC P046100 - Fuel level sensor, circuit range/performance). If any other DTCs are found proceed with GFF and repairs. If the customer’s concern included fuel gauge only showing 5/8ths after filling fuel tank, replace fuel sensor with updated part (green dot).
