Page 1 of 2 SI B65 19 14 Audio, Navigation, Monitors, Alarms, SRS October 2014 Technical Service SUBJECT DWA Siren Malfunction MODEL F12 (6 Series Convertible) F33 (4 Series Convertible) Produced to July 23, 2014 With option 0302 (Alarm system) SITUATION When the anti-theft alarm (DWA) is triggered, the horn comes on instead of the alarm siren. CAUSE DWA internal monitoring is too sensitive. CORRECTION Program the vehicle with ISTA/P 3.53.1 or higher. PROCEDURE 1. Perform diagnosis using the latest version of ISTA. Only if applicable, diagnose any relevant faults stored in the DWA alarm system by completing the test plans. 2. Program the vehicle with ISTA/P 3.53.1 or higher. NOTE: The new integration levels after programming with ISTA/P 3.53.0 are displayed below: F12 F010-14-07-500 F33 F020-14-07-500 If the I-level is higher and the problem still exists, create a PuMA Info Only case. Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not have the latest software. For information on programming and coding with ISTA/P, refer to CenterNet / Aftersales Portal / Service / Workshop Technology / Vehicle Programming. Always connect a BMW approved battery charger/power supply (SI B04 23 10). If you are using a main labor code for another repair, use the plus code labor operation 00 00 556 instead. If a control module or component was working properly and/or had no related faults stored prior to vehicle programming and it fails to program correctly or requires initialization, this additional work must be claimed with separate labor operations under the defect code listed above; refer to KSD2. Repairs to control modules and components with pre-existing conditions are not eligible to be claimed under the defect code listed in this bulletin. Other Repairs If performing ISTA diagnostics and related test plans results in other eligible and covered work, claim this work with the applicable defect code and labor operations listed in KSD2.
