Issue
Symptom:
• FC1864 logging with an engine control module (ECM) calibration code revision prior to ECM calibration code revision level listed in Table 1 below.
• FC 5656 logging with any calibration.
Root Cause:
• ECM calibrations are allowing normal oxygen sensor response to log fault codes 1864 and/or 5656.
Verification
Before troubleshooting FC 1864 and/or 5656, use INSITE™ electronic service tool to check for active or inactive counts of fault codes 1864 and/or 5656
and check the ECM code.
Resolution
• For Fault Code 1864, if the electronic control module (ECM) calibration
code and revision is included in Table 1 below, troubleshoot the fault code. See L9N CM2380 L124B Fault Code Troubleshooting Manual, Bulletin
5467495.
• If ECM calibration code and revision is not found in Table 1, update engine ECM calibration
code to latest revision, then operate unit under conditions for running diagnostic, which can be found in the L9N Fault Code Troubleshooting Manual, S
If fault code does not return, no further action is required.
• For Fault Code 5656, use INSITE™ electronic service tool to clear fault codes and return unit to customer. This TSB will be updated once an ECM
calibration code update is available to correct these issues.

Service Instructions
• Do not replace oxygen sensors for FC1864 unless it has logged while running an ECM calibration code and revision level shown in Table 1, and
proper troubleshooting has led to oxygen sensor replacement.
• Do not replace oxygen sensors for FC5656. Do not troubleshoot FC5656.
Customer Communication
An improved L9N CM2380 L124B ECM calibration code to correct this issue is expected to be available by the end of 2018.
