RAM CONTROL UNIT: CANNOT BE ENCODED / NO SOUND

SITUATION
After programming the RAM (audio amplifier) one of the following errors may occur:
1. Coding of the RAM-01 audio amplifier fails repeatedly.
2. The RAM-01 audio amplifier was successfully programmed and encoded with ISTA. However after the
vehicle goes to sleep, the sound output no longer works.
CAUSE
The root cause for this error is still under investigation.
CORRECTION
Start ISTA 4.14.x or above and manually assign the RAM module for programming and coding. Carry out
measures plan and close the session. Let vehicle go to sleep and then check for sound output.
Note: Do not swap the module from another vehicle for testing since it contains security features that will
disable it.
PROCEDURE
Start ISTA 4.14.x or above go to
Vehicle management
Software Update
Expanded
Select the RAM for programming and coding. Let ISTA calculate the measures plan and carry it out.
Note:
Use the ICOM NEXT when programming any G Series vehicles. Using the old ICOM may cause programming
failures.
If this happens switch to an ICOM NEXT. Select the failed module for manually programming and coding
(Vehicle management -> Software Update -> Expanded).
