Service Technical Information 8/02 ENU 2470 2 Spare Parts Requirements for DME Control Unit Information This Technical Information replaces the TI dated November 22, 2002. Changes/additions: • The procedure was updated in the “Information” section. Vehicle Type: 911 Carrera (996)/911 Carrera 4 (996) Model Year: 2002 Subject: DME control unit Information: Programming DME control unit if it needs to be replaced. Information • Select and program the correct data record in the 'Coding/programming' menu. • Select the "Program immobilizer code" function in the 'Maintenance/repairs' menu and • Enter the 6-character programming code documented in the PIWIS information system under "Enter new DME programming code" and press •F12“ to confirm. • Enter the 16-character immobilizer code documented in the PIWIS information system under "Enter new immobilizer code" and press •F12“ to confirm. Follow the other instructions on PIWIS Tester 3. NOTICE Incorrect immobilizer code • DME control unit will be damaged. The immobilizer code must match the code in the alarm control unit. Get this from the PIWIS information system.
