Bulletin #: 1810 Advanced Technical Information Part ID: 4651, 4654 4 Loose M6 Screws Securing PCCB Rotors to Wheel Hub Vehicles Affected Model Model Year Model Type VIN Range Vehicle Specific Equipment 911T/ GT2RS, GT3 and GT3RS 2017-on (991) N/A With Option I450 PCCB Brakes Revision History Revision Release Date Changes 0 November 16, 2018 Initial Release Condition (Customer complaints/workshop findings) The M6 screws securing the PCCB rotor assembly to the wheel hub may loosen during use. Technical Background (What is causing the issue?) 1. The threads of the original M6x12 mm screw fasteners, used to secure the rotor to each wheel hub: - Were not coated with a microencapsulated thread locking compound. 2. Were only tightened to 5 Nm. - Thermal cycling and vibration may cause these screws to loosen. - Therefore, the original screws are to be replaced with M6x10 mm screws. 3. New screws have microencapsulated coating on the threads. 4. Tightened to 10 Nm. - This is to be done during routine wheel/brake service. - A separate repair service to replace these screws should not be initiated. - The new, microencapsulated screws must be replaced each time they are removed in the future. Note: Any loosened screws are fully captivated within their recessed locations and will not cause any type of mechanical damage or safety issue.
