Reason for this Service Bulletin
There can be problems related to the Secondary Air Injection (SAI) system. If you find a fault with the SAI system, please
do the checks that follow:
Workshop Procedure
Notes: For more information about procedures that follow, please refer to the Workshop Manual for the
applicable vehicle.
This Service Bulletin is for additional information only. Further diagnosis may be required.
For SAI system operation, refer to Description and Operation section 03-08 in Workshop Information.
1.
Complete Workshop Manual procedure 00.06.AD AMDS Operation Check (Check).
2.
Do a check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
• If you find only DTC P0492 (ECM2, AIR System Insufficient Flow Bank 2), do Step 3.
• If you find DTCs P0491 (ECM1, AIR System Insufficient Flow Bank 1) and P0492 (ECM2, AIR System
Insufficient Flow Bank 2), do Step 4.
3. P0492 Only
We have found a problem with the SAI pump to SAI
control valve pipe. In some incidents, the pipe has
split at the elbow for the sensor. (Refer to Figure 1).
To do a check for leaks, attach a smoke leak tester
to the pipe on the SAI pump side.

P0491 and P0492
It is possible that the vacuum pipes for the SAI
control valve are not correctly attached. This can
cause failure of the SAI control valve operation. In
these incidents, make sure that all of the vacuum
connections shown in Figure 2 are correctly
attached.

Complete an ePDR. Give this bulletin number as reference and submit it to DCS. Aston Martin Technical Services
can request return of the related parts under the warranty process for analysis.
