Bulletin No.: PIP5624 Published date: 02/4/2019 Preliminary Information PIP5624 Diagnostic Tips For Stall / Stumble After Startup Product Investigation Review Required Models Brand: Model: Model Years: VIN: from to Engine: Transmissions: Chevrolet Equinox 2010 - 2017 All All 2.4L LAF, LEA All GMC Terrain 2010 - 2017 All All 2.4L LAF, LEA All Involved Region or Country North America Engine may stumble and / or stall after startup (hot or cold start). Condition Condition may be more noticeable when placed into gear. Typically there are no related DTCs. Cause Faulty aftermarket or incorrect upstream Oxygen sensor (HO2S) installed. Correction: Monitor Upstream Oxygen sensor voltage when condition present. It may be found that the voltage is skewing high (staying at 800mv or higher) causing the ECM to believe the engine is running rich, resulting in an unnecessary lean out of the fuel system. If the condition is not present with upstream oxygen sensor disconnected, this may con rm the oxygen sensor as being the issue. Upon further inspection it may be found that the upstream oxygen sensor had been replaced with a faulty aftermarket or incorrect upstream oxygen sensor (sensor for di erent vehicle application / position). This issue is currently under review and this PI will be updated to a Bulletin or incorporated into Service Information diagnostics.
