The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition / Concern
Customer may comment that the vehicle will not start or the engine will not crank or cranks
intermittently, technicians may find any one of or a combination of DTC's P0A45, P0C61,
P0A46, P1B04.
Recommendations / Instructions
The concern may be caused by a poor crimp on terminal 20 at the transmission 24 way pass
through connector X176, reference SI document #1985309 item #3 for connector location.
Replace the transmission internal harness if the VIN is prior to 8R217000.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is
resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
