Content
Issue: Red low coolant warning message displayed on the Instrument Cluster intermittently. Vehicle
shows no indication that the coolant is low and no leaks can be found from the coolant systems.
NOTE – the concern detailed in this SSM is only applicable to Jaguar I-Pace 2019MY vehicles up to:
SADHC2S12K1F72770
Cause: Battery expansion tank (T4K9051) and Electric Drive Unit expansion tank (T4K9050) float stem
area showed that the float stop was not fully formed allowing the float top to travel further than specified.
Action:
RHD vehicles: Check the coolant level in Battery expansion tank and RHD Electric Drive Unit
expansion tank.
Visually inspect coolant systems for leaks.
Inspect coolant level sensor wiring harnesses and connectors.
If no fault can be found for a low coolant warning message: Replace Battery expansion (T4K9051)
and RHD Electric Drive Unit expansion tank (T4K9050)
LHD vehicles: Check the coolant level in Battery expansion tank.
Visually inspect coolant systems for leaks.
Inspect coolant level sensor wiring harnesses and connectors.
If no fault can be found for a low coolant warning message: Replace Battery expansion tank
(T4K9051)
Note: Coolant tanks were quarantined and quality assured parts can be identified from Date Clocks
shown on mouldings = Feb 2019 onwards
