GROUP Electrical NUMBER PS573 (Rev 1, 03/22/2019) SUBJECT: MODEL 2018MY Stinger (CK) 2019MY Sorento (UMa) DATE August 2018 SOUND SETTINGS (FADER) MOVES TO REAR NOTICE This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. New/revised sections of this bulletin are indicated by a black bar in the margin area. This Pitstop provides information related to sound settings (fader) which may alter the default sound position settings. Customer concerns may be as follows: “After 2-3 days, the audio system will automatically fade itself to the rear speakers.” “Sometimes when I receive or make phone calls, my sound is no longer centered after the call.” “Sound location defaults to the rear of the car.” Improvement software for this concern was applied into production per the following schedule: Model Head Unit Vehicle Production Date Sorento (UMa) UVO with Navigation (AVN 5.0) April 30, 2018 UVO with Navigation (AVN 5.0) May 10, 2018 UVO without Navigation (UVO 3.0) May 4, 2018 Stinger (CK) If a customer complains about this exact concern and the vehicle was manufactured prior to the dates above specific to each system, replace the head unit with a remanufactured head unit (if applicable) through Direct Exchange to obtain the updated software. Note: Do not replace the head unit for the following normal operation if the Sound Settings below are enabled (reference PS557): 1. Back Up Warning Priority - The audio volume is lowered when the transmission is shifted into reverse. 2. Start Up Volume - Radio and media volumes are lowered upon vehicle start up if the volume is above a set maximum level during start-up. Page 1 of 1
