It will also help to identify if Advanced Logic was not applied properly. When using a template to apply Advanced Logic to another VIN the Advanced Logic should be the only option selected when programming the changes. Checking other options can cause undesired changes to occur. There are multiple options to apply the Advanced Logic. It is possible to change Features, Parameters, and Switches & Gauge Locations if the Advanced Logic is not applied properly. • This happens most often when a template is used from a different VIN that has the desired Advanced Logic. • When the template is applied to the new VIN undesired changes occur. • A case file will be required to make the necessary corrections. Dealers and Body Builders do not have the required access levels. Symptom(s) Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) & Dashboard Indicator Light(s): DTC / Light Description Not Applicable Customer Observations or Concerns: • • • • • EGC Lights not working, such as Wait to Start Lamp. Gauges inoperative. Gauges reading incorrectly. Switches not working. Switches labels not matching what the switch is actually controlling. Refer to Figure #1. #1 • Connect with Diamond Logic Builder. • View the Advanced Logic tab. Does the vehicle have Advanced Logic applied? Step • Continue to Step 2. No: • Follow normal troubleshooting procedures for the customer's complaint. Action DIAGNOSTIC: #2 Decision Decision Yes: Check the Messages tab to see how the Advanced Logic was applied. Refer to Figure #2. Does the Message tab show any improper changes when the Advanced Logic was added? • Open a Tech Service case file and request assistance to revert the changes and have the Advanced Logic re-applied properly. No: • Continue to Step 3. Step Action DIAGNOSTIC: #3 Decision Yes: Check the Electronic Gauge Cluster light configuration in Diamond Logic Builder and verify it matches the physical light location on the truck. Refer to Figure #3, Item 1. • Open a Tech Service case file and request assistance to revert the changes and have the Advanced Logic re-applied properly. No: Are any of the lights in the incorrect location? • All EGC lights are in the correct location. • Continue to Step 4. Step Action DIAGNOSTIC: Decision Yes: Check the Electronic Gauge Cluster gauge configuration in Diamond Logic Builder and verify it matches the physical gauge location on the truck. Refer to Figure #3, Item 2. Are any of the lights in the incorrect location? #4 • It is possible the gauges were changed, and the Advanced Logic is correct. Dealer and Body Builder level access does allow changing gauge locations. • Dealers and Body Builders cannot see all of the programming history for configuration changes. If you suspect there may be an issue with a template being applied: • Open a Tech Service case file and request assistance to review programming history and possibly revert any changes and have the Advanced Logic re-applied properly. No: • All EGC lights are in the correct location. • Continue to Step 5. ( Return to Step 5 ) Repair Step(s) • If you are applying Advanced Logic using a template, refer to the Installation Procedure. • If you have found an error with Advanced Logic that is already installed, a case file will be required to make the necessary corrections. Dealers and Body Builders do not have the required access levels. Removal Procedure: Not Applicable Figure #: Title of Image Installation Procedure: 1. Make a Template. Refer to Figure #5. ◦ If new Advanced Logic is being written, you will make a template of the VIN the Advanced Logic is being written for. ◦ If the Advanced Logic is already on a VIN and needs to be duplicated, a template of the VIN with the Advanced Logic needs to be made . If you already have a template you will need to import the template to apply it. Refer to Step 3 below https://evalue.internationaldelivers.com/service_kb/DocTool/ArticleViewer.aspx?ControlI... 12/4/2018 IK2600215 - Applying Advanced Logic Templates Page 7 of 10 Figure #5: Make a Template in Diamond Logic Builder 1. If a different laptop is used to program the VIN, the user will need to "Get from History" and program. Warranty Information Advanced Logic and Improperly applied Advanced Logic is the responsibility of the user who wrote / applied the template. Applying or Changing Advanced Logic is non-warrantable in most cases. The only time this is warrantable is if a Navistar employee wrote the original Advanced Logic block. Usually this will be the responsibility of the Body Builder / TEM.
