A customer may comment of a buzz type noise heard at idle.
Condition
The noise can be turned on and off by activating and deactivating the canister purge solenoid using
the scan tool.
Cause
Mass dampeners may be missing from the evaporative emission purge valve line.
Correction:
Inspect evap purge line underhood (figure 1) to see if mass dampeners were installed (figure 2).
If mass dampeners are present, proceed with SI diagnostics.
If mass dampeners are not present, contact TAC to get a mass dampener kit.
Install kit per included instructions – re-evaluate noise.
