93 19 01 February 18, 2019 2051304 Supersedes Technical Bulletin 93-18-08 (V931808) dated October 11, 2018
to add model year 2019.
High Voltage Battery - Charging Cable Cannot be Locked or Unlocked
One of the following customer concerns is present:
 The plug connector of a charging cable cannot be locked to the socket (cannot charge battery).
OR
 The plug connector of a charging cable cannot be unlocked from the socket (cannot remove plug).
If the plug connector cannot be unlocked, the following fault will be stored in the charge manager module -J966(diagnostic address BD):
 P33E800 – Charge socket A, charge connector lock mechanical malfunction
Tip:
To diagnose the lock pin with no DTC present, watch the lock pin carefully while inserting the plug of a functional
and powered charge cable into the socket. If the pin can be seen to move, but doesn’t successfully reach the
locked position, then charging will not occur.
Technical Background
