1. e-Golf Rental Program
To minimize e-Golf dealer tooling costs, the VW Special Tools & Equipment Program is proud to announce the e-Golf
Tool Rental Program. As an alternative to auto-shipment as minimum requirements, many tools required to service eGolf are available as rentals through the VW Special Tools & Equipment Program.
To rent these tools, please contact the VW Special Tools & Equipment Program by calling 800-892-9650. Prior to
renting, the dealer is required to complete a Mandatory Rental Agreement. This agreement must be filled out and
returned via fax to 800-892-9651.

www.tools.vw.com, selecting “Additional Resources” and clicking on “Tool Rental” in the drop down menu.

NOTE: When renting, please specify the exact tool number that you need, the appropriate kit will be sent in overnight
shipping. Do not provide the kit number when renting. Kit contents are subject to change based on usage.

Used to check whether the HV system is de-energized.

VAS6558/18A – High Voltage Test Adapter
Used in conjunction with high voltage measuring module VAS 6558A or hand held
multi-meter for checking the high voltage cables between the vehicle's charge
socket COMBO 1 (DC) and the high voltage battery in the vehicle, as well as the
cables between the charge socket COMBO 1 (DC) and the load management
system in the vehicle.

VAS6558/19 – High Voltage Test Adapter
Used to test the DC charger connection (high voltage cable and pilot line) directly in
the battery.

held multi-meter for checking the high voltage cables between the vehicle's charge

2. Loaner Program - HV Battery Lifting Tools
As a service to e-Golf dealers, the equipment required to uncrate and lift replacement HV Batteries will be provided
as loaner tools.
There are two scenarios in which you will need the HV Battery Lifting tools:


HV Battery Replacement – HV Battery has been diagnosed as defective and requires replacement.
HV Battery Removal & Installation – HV Battery needs to be removed to service another vehicle system.
HV Battery Replacement Tool Kit: When a replacement battery is ordered through VWGoA Parts Logistics, the
tools required to remove the existing battery from the vehicle and prepare the replacement HV Battery for installation
will be kitted and shipped by truck with the replacement HV Battery. This process will take place automatically and
there is no need to contact the VW Tools and Equipment Program to request this tool kit.
Prior to shipping, you will be contacted by the HV Battery Distribution Center to complete a Mandatory Loaner
Agreement. NOTE: This agreement must be filled out and returned to the HV Battery Distribution Center before
shipping of the HV Battery can take place. The use of these tools as outlined in ELSA is critical in avoiding serious
damage to the HV Battery. Instructions and return FAX number will be provided by the HV Battery Distribution Center
at that time.
There is no cost for return shipping of this tool kit. Return shipping labels and instructions will be provided inside the
tool kit shipping container.
HV Battery Removal & Installation Tool Kit: When HV Battery R&I is required, the tools needed to set up your
VAS6131 series Scissor Lift Table to remove and install an HV Battery are available as loaner tools through the VW
Tools and Equipment Program. To Request these tools, please contact the VW Tools and Equipment Program @
800-892-9650. NOTE: Dual Franchises and dealers who have purchased the VAS6131/10 and VAS6131/13 should
not need this kit as it is comprised of components from each. There is no cost for outgoing or return shipping to
dealers. Return shipping labels and instructions will be provided inside the tool kit shipping container.

Dealers who wish to purchase HV Battery Lifting tools may do so. To order, please contact us at www.tools.vw.com
or call us at (800-892-9650). All orders will be filled through normal channels in the order received.
Dedicated loaner tools and their shipping containers will not be sold.
The HV Battery Lifting kit must be returned within the time defined in the terms of the loaner agreement, in good, clean, serviceable condition. Tool kits will be inspected
for content, cleanliness and serviceability. Tools not meeting the proper criteria will be invoiced to the borrowing dealer accordingly. If a complete tool kit is not returned,
the borrowing dealer will be invoiced a flat fee of $3299.00 as indicated in the Mandatory Loaner Agreement.

HV Battery Replacement Tool Kit
T10528 – Suspension Device
Used in conjunction with existing components from support bracket 10222 A and workshop crane VAS 6100 to lift HV battery.
T10528/7-10 – Supplement for Suspension Device
Used in conjunction with T10528 when lifting HV Battery.
T10542A – Adapter
Used to transporting the High Voltage (HV) battery in conjunction with lifting tackle
3033.
T10543 – Suspension Device
Used for removing and installing HV battery modules.
VAS6131/10 & VAS6131/13 Components
Used to properly support HV Battery during removal and installation using the
VAS6131 Scissor Lift Table.
Items included: 5 ea-VAS6131/10-1, 5 ea-VAS6131/10-4, 5 ea-VAS6131/10-5,
2 ea-VAS6131/10-11, 3 ea-VAS6131/13-2.
NOTE: These tools are included in the HV Battery Replacement Tool Kit.
These tools are exclusively the contents of the HV Battery R&I Tool
Kit.
NOTE: Tools included in the HV Battery Loaner Program are designed to be used with existing Dealer Minimum
Required Tooling. If you do not have the following Minimum Required Tools you will need to purchase prior to
performing an HV Battery replacement.



VAS6131, VAS6131A or VAS6131B Scissor Lift Table – Requirement is 1. Please ensure your VAS6131
series Scissor Lift Table is serviceable prior to HV Battery replacement.
10-222A – Requirement is main support beam of 10-222A kit.
10-222A/7 Component of 10-222A - Requirement is 4. Please ensure you have four 10-222A/7 prior to HV
Battery replacement.
