Reason for block Complaint: The Parktronic warning tone sounds continuously from the speaker in the driver footwell. The tone is not stopped by switching off the ignition. Cause: Software release in all-digital instrument cluster (widescreen cockpit). The complaint can occur in rare cases when the highest Parktronic warning level is requested. Remedy: Do not replace any parts. The complaint can be rectified with a software update of the instrument cluster. For vehicles with software release E24 and higher (identifiable in the quick test - see Attachment A - by the software object number A2229042901), optimized software for the instrument cluster is available: • • • Addon 8135 for DVD 05/17 Addon 8134 for DVD 07/17 Addon 8132 for DVD 09/17 For vehicles with software release E15.X (identifiable in the quick test - see Attachment B - by the software object number A2139043800 or A2139043100), optimized software for the instrument cluster is available: • • Addon 8415 for DVD 07/17 Addon 8416 for DVD 09/17 For vehicles with software release E9.X (identifiable in the quick test - see Attachment C - by the software object number A2139042600 or A2139042000), you will be notified of the current status in this document with any updates. As an immediate measure, the tone can still be stopped in the following ways: • 1. 2. Request the highest Parktronic warning level again: Drive the vehicle forwards towards an object that Parktronic can detect, until one of the warning segments (in the display) reaches the highest Parktronic warning level (flashing red at the front, see video). An object moving in front of a stationary vehicle will not stop the continuous warning tone. or • or Connect a diagnostic tester and perform a quick test. • Disconnect the vehicle battery.
