Cannot Complete Restore Vehicle Configuration Or Proxi Alignment
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting and replacing the Comfort Seat and Wheel Module
(CSWM), if required.
MODELS:
2015

Jeep Renegade
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries:
NAFTA or EMEA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before January 06, 2015 (MDH
0106XX) equipped with Heated Front Seats (Sales Codes JPM).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The dealer may not be able to complete a Restore Vehicle Configuration and/or Proxi
Alignment. Certain CSWM may have incompatible software that will prevent this routine
from being completed.
DIAGNOSIS:
1. Use wiTECH to check the software version of the CSWM.
2. Select CSWM, then ECU details.
3. On the ECU detail list find “ECU Software Version Number” and look at the
corresponding value number.
4. Is the value number 1427?
a. Yes >>> Perform the repair procedure, Step #1.
b. No >>> This bulletin does not apply. Perform normal diagnostics.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
NOTE: CSWM is located under the driver seat.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the electrical connections (1).

3. Cut the tie (2) and press retaining tab (3) to release the CSWM from the bracket, see
(Fig. 1).
4. Remove the CSWM (4) from the base of the seat (6), see (Fig. 1).
5. Position the alignment tabs (5) of CSWM to the base of the seat and install the
module, see (Fig. 1).
6. Using a new tie strap, secure the CSWM to the base of the seat (6), see (Fig. 1).
NOTE: Make sure to properly secure to harness using the tie strap.
7. Connect the electrical connections.
8. Connect the negative battery terminal.

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
