Identification for Bolts Used On Japan (SBR) -Built Models (Crosstrek, WRX, BRZ):
SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
The service procedure for servicing the front hub assembly remains unchanged EXCEPT for the
revised torque specification on SIA-built models as supplied below. Always refer to the applicable
Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual
procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time and every
time. This includes but is not limited to: important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria,
necessary special tools, required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and
lasting repair.
VERY IMPORTANT: Due to the following torque specification change, these bolts should never be
mixed to avoid an under/ over torque condition on any one or more bolts. Any remaining inventory
of p.n. 901000449 should be scrapped.
•
When replacing these bolts on a SIA-Built model (Legacy, Outback, Impreza, Ascent), the
torque specification has been CHANGED from 85 Nm (62.7 Ft. Lbs.) to 126 Nm
(92.9 ft. lbs.).
•
On Japan-built models (Crosstrek, WRX, BRZ), the torque specification remains
UNCHANGED, 95 NM (70.1 ft. lbs.).
