Warranty Policies and Procedures Bulletin Audi Warranty Number: AWA-19-03 Subject: Crankcase Ventilation Valve Extended Warranty Date: May 24, 2019 Dealers: U.S., Puerto Rico This document modifies the Audi Warranty Policies and Procedures Manual. The following crankcase ventilation valve extended warranty is applicable for certain model year 2013 2016 Audi vehicles with a 3.0L or 4.0L gasoline engine. Note: This extension only applies to specific vehicles identified with Warranty Key U38. To determine if a vehicle is eligible for this extension, check in the VIN in ElsaPro >> Vehicle Data. If the warranty extension is applicable to the vehicle, the “Warranty Key” section of the “Vehicle Data” screen in ElsaPro will be populated with Warranty Key U38. Crankcase Ventilation Valve Limited Warranty Extension For applicable vehicles, the New Vehicle Limited Warranty will be extended to cover repair or replacement (by an authorized Audi dealer) of a crankcase ventilation valve for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date. The vehicle’s original in-service date is defined as the date the vehicle was delivered to either the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a “demonstrator” or “company” car, on the date such vehicle was first placed in service. What is Covered? Audi has determined that, in some vehicles, it is possible for the crankcase ventilation valve to malfunction, causing a whistling noise in the engine compartment and the MIL to illuminate due to the presence of specific fault codes caused by this component. This condition may have an impact on vehicle tailpipe emissions, and the presence of a MIL-on condition may cause the vehicle to fail an IM (smog) test. If the vehicle is diagnosed with a faulty crankcase ventilation valve by an authorized Audi dealer while the vehicle is within the time and mileage limits of this warranty extension, the crankcase ventilation valve will be replaced at no charge to the customer. Damage or malfunctions caused by outside influence, such as damage due to an accident, or vehicle misuse or neglect, and repairs that are necessary for proper diagnosis of these conditions or required to bring the vehicle up to factory specifications are not covered by this warranty extension. Repair or replacement under this extended warranty must be performed by an authorized Audi dealer. Transferability The warranty, as extended, is fully transferable to subsequent owners.
