Technical Background
After installing a remote start kit, or when adding a new remote start key, adapting the remote keys will be necessary.
In some instances the incorrect test plan may be used (Adapt Remote Start Remote Control, under guided functions in
AW 09). As such, the test plan will request the following: “- Enter the key number (RF_ID) for the remote start control.”
Service
Once the remote start kit has been installed, adapt all keys (new remote start keys and the original keys) by
performing the “Adapt immobilizer” test plan in O.D.I.S. Service. The test plan can be found under the “Special
functions” tab, in the “Immobilizer functions” section. When adapting the keys, start with the new remote start keys,
continue with the original keys, then any valet keys (if present).
