On some VOLVO trucks, the fixed chassis fairing rails can come loose from the truck. This is
due to the fairing rails rubbing and thus wearing faster than acceptable. To correct this issue
follow the instructions outlined in the documents below.

Instructions
1 Decommission the vehicle. Install wheel chocks and disconnect the battery.

2 Remove the center fairing from the vehicle.
Note: The lower support can be left on vehicle or removed completely.

3 Measure 6 inches from each end.

4 Use the 1 inch hole saw to drill a hole 6 inches from each end of the lower support.
Note: Make sure the pilot hole goes through both layers of the support. The hole saw
should only go through the “hook” portion of the support.
Note: Make sure the pilot hole is no bigger than 8 mm.

5 Place the fairing assembly back on the vehicle and use the pilot hole to drill a 9 mm hole
through the fairing and support.
Note: Do this for each end of the support.

6 Place a bolt with washer through the fairing from the outboard side.

7 Use a flange lock nute on the back of the fairing support.
8 Torque to 16 ft-lbs.

9 Connect the battery and remove the wheel chocks.
