Issue:
Brake pedal feel reduced warning message is shown on the Instrument Cluster.
Cause:
Power assistance for the braking system is provided by an electro-mechanically operated Brake Booster
Module (BBM). The electric power supply for the brake booster is backed up by an auxiliary battery (B19).
Brake pedal feel reduced warning message will be flagged if power supply from auxiliary battery is not
sufficient.
Action:
Follow TOPIx Workshop Manual Diagnosis and Testing (206-07: Power Brake Actuation - Brake
Booster).
Gather information about vehicle usage, conditions when the warning message was triggered.
Test both primary and auxiliary (12V) batteries.
Visually inspect both primary and auxiliary (12V) battery connections.
Perform Quiescent drain Test (414-01A: Battery, Mounting and Cables - Low Voltage
System à Diagnosis and Testing - Flat battery Diagnostics)
Verify that DC-DC is providing power to both 12V batteries
Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, check the Power Supply Distribution
Box (PSDB) for related DTCs and refer to the relevant DTC index.
Carefully inspect PSDB signal connector and wiring.
If PSDB failure is expected, then please raise a Technical Assistance (TA) and request support to
investigate root cause.
Attach the Pathfinder session file using 'Pathfinder Sessions'
Describe primary and secondary diagnostics complete.
Note: Topix Guided Diagnostic test is being developed to investigate root cause of the Brake pedal feel
reduced warning message.
