 Campaign 97DK shows open or closed for the vehicle.
 There is a customer concern in which the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (address word 09) is
being replaced.
Workshop findings:
 ETKA indicates that there is a technical product information bulletin (Figure 1) when ordering the vehicle
electrical system control module, J519.

Note:
This TSB should be followed for J519 replacements even if campaign 97DK has been performed.
Technical Background
There is a new software version for the vehicle electrical system control module, J519.
Repair Option 1: The vehicle electrical system control module, J519 is replaced before performing the campaign
97DK.
Repair Option 2: The vehicle electrical system control module, J519 is replaced after performing the campaign
97DK.

Service
If there is a customer concern relating to the J519 at the time of service when 97DK is to be performed, this
should be diagnosed and repaired before performing campaign work.
Repair Option 1 (module being replaced before 97DK campaign):
1. Replace the J519 as normal using the replacement test plan provided in GFF.
2. Once the replacement steps are complete, proceed with the campaign steps listed in 97DK.
Repair Option 2 (module being replaced after 97DK campaign):
1. Install the new vehicle electrical system control module J519.
2. Update the new module using SVM code 97DKOTFLASH and follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00
Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
3. Once the code completes, proceed with GFF replacement test plan for the J519.
Note:
The SVM code 97DKOTFLASH can only be used for the vehicles affected by campaign 97DK.
