Condition
Customer states:
 MIL on.
Workshop findings:
Both of the following DTCs may be stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 0001):
 DTC P007000 (Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance).
 DTC P208000 (Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Range/Performance).
Technical Background
Failure of the ambient air temperature sensor may create an out of range value for the –G235– exhaust gas
temperature sensor causing two faults. Only the –G17– ambient air temperature sensor is faulty.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
In the event of both DTCs being stored, replace ONLY the –G17– ambient air temperature sensor.
Clear all faults from the ECM, and test drive vehicle. If no DTCs return, then no further repairs are necessary.
