Description: If you are servicing a 2019 Santa Fe (2.0T) with a harsh 2-3 or 3-4 upshift when
cold, follow the Service Procedure below.

Service Procedure:
1.
Attach a GDS and select DTC Analysis and A/T menu. Refer to the Santa Fe 2.0T shop
manual and repair any DTC found.
2.
Attach a GDS and select Data Analysis, A/T menu and Oil Temperature Sensor. Drive the
vehicle when the ATF is cold (below 70°F or 21°C).

If the transmission has a harsh 2-3 or 3-4 upshift at small accelerator pedal input
(15~30% APS), but the issue does not occur after the ATF is warmed to normal operating
temperatures (above 180°F or 80°C), refer to the 2019 Santa Fe Shop Manual and replace the
torque converter.
4.
Measure the depth of the torque converter in
the converter housing. If the measurement is
less than the specification, rotate the torque
converter in either direction and push inward
until the measurement is at specification.
Specification: 0.39~0.51 in. (10~13 mm)
NOTICE
Do not use an impact gun to force
the transmission installation.
