Volvo Chassis - Differential Lock Status Alarm And Icon; Differential Lock Alarm
Tone Does Not Sound For Entire Duration Of Differential Lock Engagement

** SOLUTION **
Cause
For certain Volvo vehicles, the differential lock alarm may not sound the entire time the
differential lock is engaged. This issue can cause the driver to be confused about the
status of the differential lock and may contribute to rear end failures. Currently the alarm
will sound for 5 seconds and the instrument cluster pop-up message and icon can be
missed.
Solution
To remedy this issue please install new Instrument Cluster main software.
Refer to the chart and image below for the current and new configurations for the differential
lock status alarm and icon.
