Cause: Broken spark plug center insulator. Correction If you encounter a vehicle with an engine misfire or engine misfire related DTC perform the following. Remove the spark plugs from the engine and inspect for a broken center insulator by inverting the spark plug, once the spark plug has been inverted you may find the insulator will slide down the center electrode. If the above condition has been identified replace 4 spark plugs, clear any trouble codes and evaluate. Photo below shows the broken center insulator that has slid down and completely covered the center electrode.
