Side Curtain and Knee Airbag Modules - Design Change
INTRODUCTION:
This Service Information Bulletin announces a design change made to the side curtain and knee
airbag modules on the models listed above to optimize commonization with the Japanese production
parts. The change involves the mixture ratio of Argon to Helium used in the inflator gas:
•
OLD gas ratio: 94% Argon, 6% Helium
•
NEW gas ratio: 96% Argon, 4% Helium.
All other specifications of these modules are unchanged.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
The new airbag modules listed below were incorporated into production during November 2018.
PART INFORMATION:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Always order the most up-to-date replacement parts based on the
specific VIN being repaired.
NOTE: These new airbag parts may be used in older vehicles but older versions of these airbag parts
must never be used in newer vehicles.
