If the float sticks at the lowest position, the warning message "Fill coolant reservoir for charge-air cooler Visit workshop" will be displayed in the instrument cluster even though the reservoir for the water spray system is still sufficiently full. If the float sticks at the very top position, the reservoir will subsequently become empty and no warning message will be displayed. As a result, engine power will be reduced and the pump can be damaged. To prevent this from happening, the fill level sensor must be checked and may have to be replaced, depending on the result of the check.
