ACTION Replace the power steering high pressure piping with the part listed in the Parts Information on page 6. IMPORTANT: Inform the customer that this repair will reduce, but does not eliminate the amount of judder felt in the steering wheel during low speed parking lot maneuvers. Place the vehicle on a lift. 2. Open the hood. 3. Raise the vehicle to a comfortable work height. 4. Turn the right front wheel to the right as shown in Figure 2. Figure 2 5. Place a pan under the vehicle to catch any lost power steering fluid. 6. Unbolt the power steering high pressure piping eye-bolt (see Figure 4). The eye-bolt is 24 mm. The plastic fender protector has been pulled outward in Figure 4 to allow a clear view of the high pressure piping eye-bolt and power steering pressure sensor’s harness. Pull on the fender protector just enough to access the eye-bolt and connector. Do not pull any further or a crease may form and the protector may be permanently damaged. 7. Disconnect the power steering pressure sensor’s harness connector (see Figure 4). Front of vehicle Raise the vehicle to a comfortable height and remove the engine under cover. The engine under cover is attached with four (4) 13 mm bolts. NOTE: Figure 5 is shown with the engine under cover removed. View is looking up at underside of engine Figure 5 9. 10. Remove the high pressure piping eye-bolt and one (1) high pressure piping bracket bolt (see Figure 6), and then remove the high pressure piping from the vehicle. The eye-bolt is 14 mm. Install the new high pressure hose listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin below. Refer to the Power Steering Hose Diagram on page 2 for the component specific torque specification. 12. Fill the power steering reservoir to the appropriate level. 13. Start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel from side to side to purge any air from the power steering system. 14. Recheck the power steering fluid level and fill as needed. 5/6 ITB19-032 A. Website order via link on the dealer portal; www.NNAnet.com and click on the “Maintenance Advantage-Tire/Battery/Chemical” link. For warranty repairs, Nissan Power Steering Fluid must be used. For customer pay repairs, Nissan Power Steering Fluid or an equivalent is recommended. Bill out Nissan Power Steering Fluid under expense code 004. Do not include the Nissan Power Steering Fluid part number on the claim. One container of Nissan Power Steering Fluid is good for approximately 8 repairs.
