Action SUBJECT: Date: July 2013 Action No.: C1A – 13 07 01 Group: 07 Model 166.057 Model Year 2013 Update Injector Coding This Customer 1 Action has been initiated because the injector coding may not meet current specifications in the subject vehicles. Dealers will update injector injection quantity adjustment to correct this condition at the next workshop visit. Prior to performing this Customer 1 Action: Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously repaired. 1 2 Procedure Figure 1 1. Remove water collector: Remove wiper arms (1, Figure 3), refer to WIS: AR82.30-P-6100GZ. Detach rubber seal (2) from cover (3). Remove covers (4). Remove bolts (5). Remove water channel (6). Detach water collector (8) with washer hoses (7) attached and place to left side of vehicle (outside of fender). Note: Be sure to install fender covers to protect vehicle when removing water collector (8). 2. Remove windshield wiper system, refer to WIS: AR82.30-P-6400GZ. Note: (regarding above WIS instructions): Disregard step 2, this was performed in step 1 of this Procedure. 3. Unclip cabin filter air duct (arrow, Figure 2) and remove air duct (arrow). Figure 2 C1A – 13 07 01 3 Figure 3 4. Remove screws/bolts (arrows, Figure 3) and cable tie then remove bulkhead assembly sections (A). 5. Remove intake manifold cover (B, Figure 3), refer to WIS: AR09.20-P-1961GQ steps 1 – 19. C1A – 13 07 01 4 Note: Use DAS/Xentry 05/06-13 with all associated patches or higher. Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry. Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V). 6. Update injector injection quantity adjustment: Control units / ME-SFI motor electronics 'MED 177' for internal combustion engine 'M276' / Control unit adaptations / Configuration / Manual adjustment / Injector quantity adjustment. 7. Follow on-screen instructions. Note: Injector code (arrow, Figure 4) can be read by disconnecting engine harness connector (B) from injector (A). Figure 4 8. Assemble in reverse order.
