Complaint:
Low beams inoperative.
Cause:
The presence of on-board voltage can lead to increased wear on the bulb of the low beam light.
Remedy:
Voltage reduction at low beam bulb (E1e2 and E2e2) by installation of the resistance cable included in the parts kit.
If there is repeated failure of the bulbs for the low beams, perform the following steps:
WARNING: Bulbs, lamps and connectors can become very hot when operating. You could burn yourself on these
components when changing a bulb. There is a risk of injury! Let these components cool before changing bulbs.
1.
Remove housing cover from lamp unit (E1 and E2) (see operator's manual).
2.
Separate electrical connection (1) of low beams (E1e2 and E2e2) (see Figure 1).
SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be worn for this.
3.
Replace low beams (E1e2 and E2e2) (see operator's manual).
NOTE: Only use the bulbs included in the parts kit (see: Parts).
NOTE: Do not touch glass bulbs with your bare fingers, but use a soft cloth that is free of oil and grease. Otherwise the bulbs may be damaged through overheating during operation.
SAFETY NOTE: Working gloves are to be worn for this.
4.
Connect resistance cable harness (2) with electrical connection (1) (see Figure 2).
5.
Route electrical lines (see Figure 3).
NOTE: Fasten the electrical connection of the resistance cable harness (2) to the electrical connection (1) using
a cable tie (arrow).
