SUBJECT: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Message about Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration MODELS: 2019 - 2020 (KL) Jeep Cherokee 2019 - 2020 (JL) Jeep Wrangler NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: EMEA. NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 2.2L N-S I4 Turbo Diesel Engine W/ESS (Sales Code EBH) or 2.2L I4 Turbo Diesel Engine W/ ESS (Sales Code EBV). DISCUSSION: Customers may describe a warning message displaying on the IPC about DPF regeneration or a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). • P2463 - Particulate Filter Restriction - Soot Accumulation Bank 1. 25-001-19 -2- Normal diagnosis should be performed to determine the root cause. After normal diagnosis has been performed and it is determined that the customer neglected the IPC warning message about DPF regeneration, this will result in customer pay to have a forced regeneration procedure performed instead of the normal regeneration as recommended in the user manual and in the information leaflet provided with their vehicle upon delivery (Fig. 1) .
