APPLIED VEHICLE: APPLIED DATE: 2019 QX50 (J55) Vehicles built before May 31, 2019 IF YOU CONFIRM A fuel odor inside the vehicle AND There are no visible fuel leaks. ACTION Replace the EVAP canister filter vent hose with the new one listed in the PARTS INFORMATION on the last page of this bulletin. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Infiniti retailer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/5 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. 2. Remove the passenger side rear wheel/tire assembly. EVAP canister filter vent hose 3. Disconnect the EVAP canister filter vent hose from the lower EVAP canister filter connection in the rear of the wheel house (Figure 1). EVAP canister filter Disconnect here Figure 1 4. Disconnect the EVAP canister filter vent hose from the white plastic EVAP hose connector at the frame and remove the hose from the vehicle (Figure 2). Disconnect here EVAP canister filter Figure 2 2/5 ITB19-026a 5. Using a suitable tool, remove the white plastic EVAP hose connector from the frame and discard (Figure 3). Remove EVAP hose connector Figure 3 6. Attach two (2) new C-clips to the new EVAP canister filter vent hose at the locations marked in pink in Figure 4. The new EVAP canister filter vent hose and C-clips are listed in PARTS INFORMATION on the last page of this bulletin. Attach new C-clips at these 2 locations Figure 4 7. Connect the new EVAP canister filter vent hose to the EVAP canister filter. 3/5 ITB19-026a 8. Pull out slightly on the plastic wheel well trim in the area shown in Figure 5. Attach upper portion of EVAP hose to the ABS harness in this area using one of the new C-clips Route EVAP hose along the ABS harness Figure 5 9. Route the EVAP canister filter vent hose along the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) harness. 10. Attach the upper portion of the EVAP canister filter vent hose to the ABS harness as shown in Figure 5. 11. Attach the lower portion of the EVAP canister filter vent hose to the ABS harness with the lower C-clip (not shown). 12. Reinstall the passenger side rear wheel/tire assembly.
