Description
This Temporary Repair Practice is being issued to address Turbocharger and/or System Outlet
NOx Sensor failures on certain ISX12 CM2350 engines. This TRP authorizes certified repair
locations to replace the Turbocharger and/or the System Outlet NOx Sensor if fault codes or
troubleshooting lead to a confirmed failure of the Turbocharger and/or the System Outlet NOx
Sensor.
Note : This TRP only applies to engines that are no longer covered by a Cummins
Base, Extended, or Emissions warranty program. If a Cummins coverage is available
for the failed component, the claim should be filed to the coverage that gives the most
benefit to the Customer.
Action
In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:

must have NO existing coverage, and
must be within 10 years in service and 435,000 miles, and
must show as OPEN on QuickServe® Online for this field action, and
must experience a Turbocharger and/or System Oulet NOx Sensor failure.
Note : The ESN list is attached for reference.

After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:
1. As required, remove and replace the Turbocharger using service procedure 010-033 in
Cummins Service Manual 4310646 for ISX12 CM2350 X102 engines.
2. As required, remove and replace the System Outlet NOx Sensor using service procedure 019451 in Cummins Service Manual 4310646 for ISX12 CM2350 X102 engines.
Note : If the unit is covered by a Cummins Base, Extended, or Emissions warranty
program, file claims as is appropriate and best benefits the customer. If both items are
covered by a warranty program, the unit is NOT eligibile for this field action. File Admin
and SRT 17-902 Campaign Check to close the field action.
Material Disposition
Where applicable, items removed should be returned to ReCon for core credit. Unless otherwise
indicated, items with no core liability can be scrapped.

Note : All parts listed are OPTIONAL. Claim only the parts required to complete the
repair. Additional parts, such as o-rings, gaskets and fasteners, that are required to
complete the repair, but not listed, may be claimed if sufficiently explained in the claim
narrative. ReCon (RX) parts should be used and claimed when performing all Cummins
Field Actions. New or NX parts should only be used when making before-in-service
repairs. Additionally, due to local laws, RX/PX parts may not be available for use in the
repair. If this is the case for your region, use the New part equivalent of the appropriate
ReCon part. Further, if RX/PX parts are not readily available to complete the repair in a
timely fashion, the new part equilavent can be secured and used for the repair.
